Signs of Life - Photography of Rick Murai

Acclaimed fine art photographer and Yuba College photography professor Rick Murai will exhibit his award-wining photographs from Bhutan, Laos and Easter Island during a solo show at Viewpoint Photographic Gallery, 2015 J St, Sacramento, CA.

Signs of Life opens Feb. 8 and ends March 3, 2012, and includes recent images from a 20-year project documenting the world's sacred sites. Many of the photographs in the exhibition garnered first-place honors from the prestigious 2008, 2010 and 2011 Travel Photographer of the Year competition (Great Britain), and the Jurors Award from the 2010 California State Fair.

Rick’s work is widely collected and published here and abroad and will be represented in a traveling exhibition this summer hosted by the London Royal Geographic Society.

Rick will discuss the creative and technical resources that produced his latest work during a free presentation at Viewpoint’s artist reception, Friday, Feb. 10, 5:30-8:30 PM. He will also announce Peru: Land of the Sun - an exciting, price-conscious two-week photography adventure to the Peruvian Andes, July 9-22, 2012.
