Made his first commercial, for Matchbox cars, at age 14. Met long-time friend Tobey Maguire when both were auditioning for the 1990-91 sitcom Parenthood (DiCaprio won the part). Portrayed homeless Luke Brower, who was taken in by the Seaver family, on the ABC series Growing Pains from 1991 to 1992. Made a brief appearance as "First Guy" in Drew Barrymore's 1992 film Poison Ivy .
